What Are Security Audits?
Security audits are systematic and thorough processes carried out to assess and analyze the security of a company’s systems, networks, and applications. These audits are performed with the goal of identifying vulnerabilities, risks, and weaknesses in the organization’s technological infrastructure.
During a security audit, various aspects are examined and evaluated, such as system configurations, implemented security policies, access controls, password management, protection against malware and viruses, data encryption, among others. Activity logs are also reviewed, and penetration tests are conducted to detect potential security breaches.
The outcome of an audit provides the company with a clear view of its cybersecurity posture, aiming to identify areas for improvement. Based on the findings, corrective measures can be implemented to strengthen security, such as software updates, improvements in policies and procedures, and staff training.
